Hey guys! So you may have noticed I haven’t been participating in Top 5 Wednesdays for the past few months and that’s because I haven’t been enjoying the topics or had much selection for those topics. But I want to join in on the meme again, so I’ll be listing something else if I can’t relate to the topic of that week. This week I’ll be listing the top five books that disappointed me the most in 2015.
5. Love is the Higher Law by David Levithan
To be honest, I was expecting so much more from this book and although it had a greater meaning to deliver, it fell a little flat for me.
This one is loved by so many in the book community and I was really looking forward to it, but it took me approximately three tries to get through the whole book. It’s disappointing because I feel my dislike this one is the reason I have very little interest in reading the other books in the series.
I mainly picked this one up because I heard it was like Orange is the New Black… well, if you decide to read it for that sole reason, you’ll be highly disappointed. The only similarity they have is an all-female correctional center. Not only did it let me down in that sense, but I just didn’t enjoy it at all.
The synopsis sounded so interesting, honestly, but it really let me down in the end. I just wasn’t a fan of anything about this book.
1. If I Fall, If I Die by Michael Christie
I was so intrigued by the synopsis!! I really was, but then as I got further and further into the book, it felt like it wasn’t really going anywhere. I thought maybe it was just slow paced and it will speed up a bit toward the end. Nope. It let me down, big time.
What are the most disappointing reads of 2015 for you? Have you read any of these? If so, what are your thoughts? Thanks for reading!
I’ve only read Cinder out of these books, but I loved it. Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy it as much, though I will add that my favorite book out of the series so far is Cress. If you do decide to continue the series, I hope you enjoy it more!

I do want to continue because I hear so many great things, but it’s just, you know that feeling when the first book wasn’t too good so you’re not really motivated to read the others? But thank you! I hope I do, too!

I totally understand! I feel the same way about Throne of Glass even though it’s such a crowd favorite. I was really disappointed after I read the first book. Things got better when I read The Assassin’s Blade but fell after I read Crown of Midnight. I’m hesitant to start the third book, but I do want to keep reading the series hoping it gets better xD

I still have yet to read that! I finally got to Shadow and Bone & The Daughter of Smoke and Bone, though, so hopefully I get to TOG some time soon. But yeah, that’s exactly how it is for me, too lol.

OMG I really really hope you enjoy Shadow and Bone! I love that series so muchhhh (mainly because of the Darkling & Nikolai <3). I haven't read The Daughter of Smoke and Bone yet, but I'm slowly collecting the series from Book Outlet haha xD
